The Bathroom As A Place Of Comfort At Home

The Bathroom As A Place Of Comfort At Home

You can begin and end each day in comfort and style with a modern bathroom vanity. The bathroom is a place where we spend plenty of time showering, grooming, and getting ready for the day or night, and it should not be overlooked as a place where we can increase our comfort, improve our home’s aesthetic, and increase the value of a property.
Modern vanities make a sophisticated update to the classic vanity, combining utility with contemporary style. These vanities give an instant upgrade to any modern bathroom. Whether you are simply looking to improve your own comfort or wish to impress guests, these vanities will help to improve your surroundings. You may be looking for a full bathroom renovation, complete with a luxury shower, new tiles, modern vanity and so forth. Or, if you want to improve this important room in a more straightforward way, then simply adding a new bathroom vanity can do the trick.

Many people are increasingly looking to modernise their homes, from the city to the country and all places in between. It’s also possible to include vintage styles with a modern twist, like this beautiful classic bathroom. Upgrading to a modern vanity does not necessarily mean you have to cut out traditional accents, unless of course that is what you wish to do. For example, a modern vanity would look beautiful under some rustic lights or above classic Italian tiles, and you can decorate the countertop with a classic accent piece such as flowers in a tasteful vase, or a lantern.
Simplicity can often speak more than a more complex living space. When you simplify your surroundings, you bring more focus to the decorations, and the furniture in itself becomes a work of art. Simplicity is achieving growing attention in books such as the bestselling The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, through spiritual teachers, and practices such as feng shui; and perhaps even your mom taught you some of this growing up. There are many modern bathroom vanities that fit this bill, showing great style by their simple design, and making for striking pieces that do not compete with the other objects in your home. There is no need to sacrifice style for utility when you can have both with these functional pieces.

If you are considering renovations to your home, bathrooms of all sizes, both large and small, can be a great place to focus as you get started. Consider playing around with both traditional and contemporary looks and find the combination that feels right to you. Decorating can be fun, and that goes beyond the living areas. Choose a vanity of any size, with any number of drawers and cupboards, and choose from different colors, black and white being especially popular for a modern feel. The bathroom is an important and essential room to any home, and one that both you and your guests will be using every day, so it is best to feel as at home as possible.

Located in Lomma, Sweden, and designed by Swedish designer Daniella Witte, this container house bring to the country side the conform of a modern hotel room.
Outside a wood facade, painted in light grey, blends into the country landscape. Inside, its moody green walls shelter a bed, a dining area and a kitchenette, all of it in a tiny space that still feels airy and spacious, thanks to clever design solutions
Beautiful linen fabrics dress bed and windows, adding a sense of lux and an organic feel to the room. The Ikea kitchenette and the Tulip dining table were spray-painted in dark green to match the colour in the walls. This mix of greens, whites and soft neutrals creates a calm and tranquil interior, cosy in winter, fresh in summer.
The television is hidden inside a cabinet, putting any technology or electrical equipment out of sight. At the end of the day, you came here to relax and disconnect.
A big window lets the natural light and fresh air in and creates a visual connection between the indoors and the porch. From the porch guests can enjoy stunning view to the countryside and magical sunsets.

How To Incorporate Antiques Into A Modern Home

How To Incorporate Antiques Into A Modern Home

Do you love the rustic, cozy look of antiques and find yourself wishing you could pull that look off in your own home? The good news is that you can, and you won’t even have to break the bank to get a picture-perfect home. All you have to do is have an eye for design, know what you can get to work in your home, and follow these simple tips.

Don’t be Afraid to Clash

Unless you happen upon a matching set of antique dishes, picture frames, or other items, chances are you’re going to fall in love with pieces that don’t match. Don’t try to force your pieces to work together or work too hard to find matching sets. Instead, embrace the charm in the mismatched.

Give Old Pieces New Life

When you’re out searching for the perfect antique for your home, don’t discount the piece that may need a little work. Instead, look at it from a finished perspective. You may love the frame of an old chair but not the upholstery. If that’s the case, simply reupholster it tobreathe new life into your piece without completely changing its look.

Embrace Different Eras

Maybe you love an old Art Deco couch and a Victorian-era chair but don’t think they’ll look good together in your living room. There are no rules that state your furniture has to be from the same era, so embrace the eclectic look of having pieces from different eras. They’ll likely make great conversation pieces.

Find Alternate Uses for Pieces

You may happen across an antique that has no practical use in today’s world but you still love, such as a railroad tie, for example. Give old pieces new meaning by using them in new ways. A railroad tie may become a doorstop or a set of old mason jars can let you get the perfect rustic lighting.

Find Pieces that Tell a Story

Part of the joy in hunting down the perfect antique for your home is coming across a piece that tells a good story. If you find an antique that comes with a rich history, don’t hide it away in a hutch or closet. Put it on display in your home where it’s a centerpiece of the room and people can enjoy learning about.

You don’t have to be a serious antique collector to get the perfect rustic look for your home. Simply follow these tips and be patient when it comes to finding the perfect piece and you’ll get the look you want in no time.
